chief petty officer rings

In the navy, the term “chief” usually refers to the ship’s cook with the highest rank or authority. In 1893, an executive order established an enlisted pay scale which included the grade of Chief Petty Officer. Later, the U.S. Navy created the grade of this position. The first uniform of the Chief Petty Officer appeared in 1922.

This CPO uniform was distinguished by the inclusion of the 1-inch high Coast Guard Shield placed on the right sleeve midway between wrist and elbow. The emblem of the chief’s authority is the anchor. If you’re one of the privileged officers who hold this title, commemorate it with one of chief petty officer rings. Wear your ring proudly as a memento of your years in the service.
