Turquoise is a very popular mineral used in many kinds of jewelry. From turquoise earrings to necklaces and brooches, its shine and unique hue have made this stone a popular choice.

Its name is French and is thought to be derived from “Turkish” or “dark-blue stone.” A popular myth about its name is that it is purported to come from Turkey. It was, however, traded in Turkish bazaars to Venetian merchants who then brought it to Europe.
